Whats new in GIMP 3.0?
This is a big update to GNU Image Manipulation Program (or GIMP, for short).
Import a file with an AdobeRGB color profile, and you wont lose those details during editing.
According to GIMP, this update lays the groundwork for future CMYK and LAB image color modes.
Non-destructive layer editing
Unlike in the previous version of GIMP, the new update included non-destructive filters.
Having said that, youre free to switch back to the previous destructive workflow by selecting Merge Filters.
Improvements also extend to better backwards compatibility, font loading, and support for non-destructive text outlines.
Expanded file format support
The new version of GIMP introduces better support for new file formats.
This includes the ability to import and export macOS ICNS icons and Windows CUR and ANI cursors.
