Events should be enjoyable, but the plethora of organizational headaches can make them anything but.
Luckily,Apples Invites appoffers a better way.
That makes it a fairly flexible option, no matter what rig you use.
Get started
If its the first time youve opened the Invites app, tapCreate an Event.
Otherwise, tap the+ buttonin the top-right corner.
Add a background
At the top, selectAdd Background.
Just tap your choice and itll be added to the event.
Description
Scroll down to add a description, if you like.
Below that youll see the weather forecast for your event, plus a map to find its location.
TapCreate AlbumorAdd Playlistand select what you want to include.
Preview
TapPreviewto see what your guests will receive and check everything is perfect, then tapNextto start inviting attendees.
How to invite guests
The next stage is populating your event with people.
There are various ways to add guests, which well cover here.
Sharing options
Once youve created an invitation and tappedPreview > Next, youll see the iOS share sheet.
Youve now got a few options.
Here, you’re able to jot down their name or select them from your list of contacts.
Guest list
Once youve sent out your invitations, scroll down to theGuest Listsection.
Here, youll see everyone who has been invited, as well as their responses.
Heres how its done.
Plus-ones
On an events page, tapInvite Guests, then tap the sliders icon in the top-right corner.
Here, tapAdditional Guests.
This allows your guests to bring their own plus-one attendees.
you’re free to add up to five extra guests per person.
TapView Informationto see their contact details or tapAllow to invite othersto let them bring their own plus-ones.
you could also remove them from the event if you want.
Edit event parameters
On the event page, tap the… buttonin the top-right corner, then tapEvent parameters.
This lets you remove the background preview, duplicate the event, pause replies, and more.
Cancel or delete
Here,you’re free to also cancel the eventat the bottom of the page.
Note that this is different to deleting an event.
Canceling marks it as inactive, but the guest list and all of the events details are still viewable.
If you change your mind, you’re free to reactivate it.
TapOpen Invitationto go to the event page.
Here, youll see three RSVP options:Going,Not GoingandMaybe.
you might send an optional message alongside your RSVP response.
TapSend Replywhen youre done.
Android
On an Android rig,tap the icloud.com linkyou received.
Youll see an invitation with all the key details.
Scroll down andenter your email address.
Justenter your email addressand a verification code will be sent to it.
Fill this in on the next page.
You will also see the location, weather, and more.
