This isMicrosofts way of distinguishing a Copilot PC from a regular laptop.
The idea is to get you to use Copilot more frequently, if you arent already doing so.
Remap the Copilot key through Windows configs

Go into Windows configs
Right-click anywhere on the desktop and clickPersonalize.
Alternatively, you’re free to also click theSettings appvia theWinkey.
Click personalization
ClickPersonalizationfrom the left menu, and scroll down till you find theCustomize Copilot key on keyboard.
Choose between ‘Search’ and ‘Custom’
The current toggle item should say Copilot.
you’re able to press it and choose betweenSearchorCustom.
Set to ‘Custom’
ChoosingCustomopens a new menu with all the installed apps on your system.
Remap the Copilot key to launch a key combo

Install PowerToys
InstallMicrosoft PowerToysfrom theMicrosoft Storeapp.
If the left menu is hidden, press the three parallel lines button to expand it.
Set PowerToys to admistrator mode
Go toGeneral, and underAdministrator modesub-menu, press the toggleRestart PowerToys as administrator.
Enable ‘Run at startup’
Scroll a bit further down to make sureRun at startuptoggle isenabled.
Open ‘Input/Output’ tweaks
From the left menu head toInput/ Output.
Go to the Keyboard Manager’s ‘Keys’ submenu
PressKeyboard Managerand scroll down to theKeyssub-menu.
Select ‘Remap’
PressRemap a key.
For example, Ive registered the Win + 1 command which opens the first pinned app in the taskbar.
Confirm the remapping
Press theOKbutton on the top.
Youll get a warning message pop up, which you might ignore and pressContinue anyway.
